| La mia passione per la fotografia ha radici antiche, sono infatti passati quasi quaranta anni da quando acquistai la mia prima reflex, compagna di mille avventure, con la quale mi avvicinai al fantastico mondo delle immagini. Tornano alla mente mille sensazioni legate a quel periodo, pellicole consumate a metri e bobinate in modo rudimentale in casa, l’emozione nel vedersi formare, a poco a poco nella vaschetta degli acidi, le immagini che avevi catturato pochi minuti prima, era fantastico! Poi come succede spesso, arriva il momento del disinteresse, durato poco e cancellato come per incanto dall’avvento del digitale, esatto proprio quel digitale che molti miei colleghi non accettano volentieri. Condivido solo in parte chi sostiene che il digitale sia peggiore dell'analogico, infatti a fronte di una resa cartacea leggermente inferiore, il digitale offre un vantaggio innegabile che è il post-produzione con il quale è possibile esaltare la nostra espressione creativa. Sono le opportunità offerte dal digitale che hanno risvegliato in me l’interesse assopito per la fotografia, la possibilità di recuperare scatti altrimenti inutilizzabili, il poter ottimizzare scatti già buoni ed infine il poter visionare in tempo reale il lavoro svolto, mi hanno convinto che era il momento di guardare nuovamente il mondo attraverso il mirino di una reflex. Mi piace fare foto di qualsiasi genere, ma la massima soddisfazione arriva quando fotografo gruppi musicali famosi e meno famosi durante i loro live. E’ infatti quello il momento in cui le mie due passioni convergono e quello diventa un momento magico! La mia seconda passione, la musica, viene anch’essa da lontano, infatti negli anni ’70 suonavo la batteria con alcuni gruppi, esibendomi in feste di piazza e ristoranti. Nulla è più esaltante che cavalcare due passioni così intense... Almost forty years elapsed since bought my first camera. It has been my companion of uncountable adventures and introduced me to the fantastic world of images. Many sweet sensation comes to my mind when I think about those times: the huge quantities of manually rolled film, the eagerness when waiting for the image slowly developing into the sink, every experience was thrilling at the beginning. Then as often happens, after having tried uncountable techniques and photographic genres, the boredom started to show up, but luckily I just had the time to throw a glance at it, very soon arrived the digital era of photography and that fired my passion again. Differently from many I loved it from the beginning and can't agree with those ones that claim that digital photography is lesser than analog photography. Maybe the overall quality is slight less but the post production opportunities you get with digital photography open up a huge array of creative solutions. I like taking pictures of any kind but what I love most is taking pictures at concerts of famous and less famous bands. I love music too and shooting live concerts is a great way to enjoy my two passions at a single time, those are magic moments to me. I myself have been a musician in the seventies, I was a drummer and used to play with a few bands here and there at events in Rome and in the neighborhoods.
